It's all about relationships and hospitality. Our own cultural upbringing can deceive us. We tend to think that people from other cultures should be just like us, and we are shocked when they act in ways we don't understand. These experiences can lead to major misunderstandings and distrust. Training in cross-cultural communication can avoid the majority of these disasters. Learning how other cultures THINK differently will explain why they ACT differently. Understanding why they ACT differently allows us to RESPOND appropriately.
This training is designed for anyone coming in contact with people in a foreign culture(corporate expatriates, diplomats, study abroad participants, volunteers, missionaries, military personnel)or at home in multicultural settings (the workplace, school and other social or organizational contexts).
